Sayonara Wild Hearts is a game about depression. That being said, in my many play throughs trying to beat yolo arcade (unsuccessfully) I've come to develop this interpretation based on my own ideas as well as other people's interpretations. So as a preface, this is speculation, I'm very aware that a lot of this is probably just nothing and Simogo could've just made a cool game that means nothing but here's to me and my tin hat. Okay so here's a lot, I've been meaning to write this but every time I start I get distracted. (hey this was meant to be a comment but my post was too long to post as a comment so here it is)
